Matt ColehourMy wife and I moved to Cheshire 13 years ago, before we had children, choosing this community for its exceptional public schools. Today, we’re proud to have three kids in the Cheshire Public School system, all attending Doolittle School (grades 6, 4, and 1).
Professionally, I hold a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, a Master's in Nuclear Engineering, and a Master's in Engineering Management. I served for five years as an officer in the U.S. Navy, working as a nuclear engineer designing waste disposal systems. Since then, I've held several executive leadership roles at successful startups—some reaching valuations of over $500 million. Locally, I’ve been deeply engaged in our schools and community. I’ve served on the Cheshire Education Foundation, the School Business Partnership Committee, the Fair Rent Commission, the School Calendar Committee, and the Doolittle PTA as Treasurer for seven years. I’ve also served on the Board of the Cheshire Soccer Club. In 2022, I founded Support CPS, a grassroots committee that advocated for the new schools referendum. My wife and I also co-founded Small World Languages in 2018, which brought world language education to local children through after-school programs, including those in Cheshire. |
