David  Ioime

Hi – I’m David Ioime. For over 26 years, I’ve been proud to call Cheshire my home. Like so many families here, I was drawn by Cheshire’s vibrant community spirit and outstanding public schools. I raised my daughter in town (she’s a Cheshire public schools graduate), and both of my sons have settled nearby with families of their own.
As a single parent, I saw firsthand how this community supports its own. Whether it was the dedicated teachers in our schools or the welcoming community at Saint Peter’s Church, Cheshire has always felt like one big extended family. My daughter grew up playing soccer with the Cheshire Soccer Club, and together, we took full advantage of everything this town offers to families.
After retiring from a rewarding 43-year career in the network communications industry, I found a new calling in  community service. I’ve stayed active at Saint Peter’s, I’m a member of the Waterbury Elks and I volunteer at the Waterbury Palace Theater, where I’ve recently joined the Volunteer Leadership Team.
I’m running for Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate because I want to help preserve what makes Cheshire special. Good zoning shapes the future of our town—protecting the character and quality of life we all cherish; while ensuring we maintain a reasonable tax base. I’ll support sensible, community-oriented policies, and I’ll push back against state and local proposals that risk undermining Cheshire’s unique character, affordability or vitality.
Cheshire is my home—and I’m committed to working hard so it remains a wonderful place for all our families, today and for generations to come.
