John Milone"Bringing Business Background and Engineering Expertise to our Council "
Over the past 40 years, I have had the good fortune to have raised my four children while also building a successful business here. For me, this continues to be an opportunity to give back to our community in a meaningful way. I am committed to respectful and balanced leadership, strong fiscal oversight, public safety, quality education, schools, parks, and public spaces, and continued economic growth. I will always listen and maintain an open and honest approach to governing, focusing on what is best for our community and our residents. Personal Background: I am very fortunate to have come from a modest upbringing where my father, a police officer and my mother, a working mom(somewhat unusual in the 50s and 60s), instilled in my sisters and me a strong sense of appreciation for being born in this country, a consistent reminder of our responsibility to others and a strong work ethic. Both my parents and my three sisters, all of whom pursued careers in either education or healthcare strongly influenced my belief system. We were raised to be respectful and accepting of all people, a life foundation that I am so grateful for. Professional Background: I pursued a career as a professional engineer and in 1984 co-founded Milone & MacBroom, Inc., which became one of the most well regarded engineering, planning, landscape architectural, and environmental design firms in the Northeast. Based right here in Cheshire, with regional offices throughout New England and New York, we grew to a firm of about 185 employees before merging into a global consultancy known as SLR Consulting in 2020. We still maintain our offices here in Cheshire where we have about 200 employees. I continue to work as a Senior Advisor.
